Norma lives in Annapolis, Maryland but her heart is in Bradenton, Florida. Norma, a Sunbird, is an accountant with a degree in Financial Accounting. She goes to the 'Northland' in the winter, but as soon as tax season is over she and her husband return to Florida.
To offset her 'left brain' profession, Norma feeds her 'right brain' with arts and crafts. She has been a crafter for many years working in jewelry, ceramics, beading and specializing in Christmas related crafts, but after taking a class in June at SSG "Her love for glass", she says, "brings out my more artistic side".
Six months ago Norma took her first glass class and now has a small studio at home. Her goal is to take every class at SSG, to learn as many techniques as she can, to enhance her creativity when making her glass projects. So far she has taken the Vase, Platter, Bubbles, Interweave, Tye Dye, 3D, Fused Fantasies and the Tools class so she can work independently in her home studio and Open Studio at SSG. She is now making glass samples for Firelite Forms, our sister slumping mold company and SSG.
Her first home project was a repair on a glass project she made at SSG. Her second project was making her own glass dots. After referring to Sue's book "Everything You Wanted To Know About Fusing....But Had No One To Ask" her first two home projects were a success.
