WHAT IS GLASS FUSING?
FUSING IS A PROCESS WHERE FLAT PIECES OF GLASS ARE LAYERED THEN HEATED IN A KILN.
IN A SECOND FIRING YOUR ART GLASS IS 'KILN FORMED' OR 'SLUMPED'
INTO A MOLD TO FORM YOUR DESIGN

SSG specializes in fusing glass and glass slumping (glass forming) classes and wokshops. Our curriculum includes full classes in Beginners Fusing and Advanced Fusing including specialized "frit" classes. We also offer 'One On One' private lessons for the student that wants individualized instruction.
Our Mini-Workshops is where we offer art glass techniques with smaller classes and lower fees affording more availability for independent work in our open studio, including FREE 'WACKY WEDNESDAY' a Q&A session for all those unanswered problems.
These fusing technique Mini-Workshops are offered at a minimal cost from between $5 and $25 during a variety of times convenient to everyone. They are appropriate for beginners with little or no experience or the fuser that wants to add new techniques to their projects. Evening and Saturday classes are available for everyone including the 9-5'ers, kids and students.
Have a small studio at home and are doing a large project or don't have a glass kiln? Take advantage of SSG's 'Kiln Rental' for forming glass as well as cast glass, or maybe you want to try your hand at bottle slumping. SSG has 2 large glass kilns, 24x48 and 40x40 available for rental for that special glass fused project.
Love to work with others, make new friends, bounce ideas off one another....come to 'Open Studio' where you can work independently on small or large projects in a friendly yet professional atmosphere.
